There is no love left for bruised peaches,
infected to the pit, rotting and saccharine.
We must resign ourselves to being out of tune,
creaking and dusty attic pianos.
You know, dear, were we robots,
these blemishes and contusions,
these loose and sour notes,
would mend simply, with a screw driver and soldering iron.
