30 poems in 30 days: Day 7

Things you wish you could tell the man who was once your best friend, after a night of dreaming.

Last night I watched you
drive a car like a chariot.

I don’t know where you
keep your secrets now,
don’t know where
they put the glove compartments
in chariots, don’t know how to
preserve affinity without an
airtight container.
